WELCOME TO THE PLATU SECTION

We have 17 Platus in Ocean Marina and organize the best One Design racing in Thailand, or even in Asia.

The championship was started in 2008 and is now in its 3rd year.


The 2011 series consist of 4 events (3 best score to count), all out of Ocean Marina Yacht Club in Pattaya:

13th-14th March       Platu Open Championship of Thailand

30th April-3th May    Top Of The Gulf Regatta, Platu Coronation Cup.

12th-14th August       Platu Thai National Championships of Thailand

8th-9th October       Platu Cup


                3 best scores to count for the Championship 2011 .


There are now 17 Platus at the Ocean Marina in Pattaya and with many available for charter this helps increase the number of "foreign" entries.  Also, the class is strictly controlled by the International Platu Class Rules so that all entrants are guaranteed a level playing field when competing.  This is borne out by the number of different boats on the rostrum each time.  One Design promotes winning crews not winning boats.

So book your place early and make sure you enjoy some of the best racing in Asia.

CHARTER BOATS

We have several charter boats, subject to availability.  These are always in good racing condition ready to win.  We can also rent out racing sails of average racing quality.

RATINGS

Because of the accepted weight of 1,136 kgs minium, instead of 1,240 kgs, all our Platus here in Pattaya are rated as follows:

SBR        0.873
IRC         0.971

Owners may wish to have their boats rated individually.  If so, Ocean Marina now offers weighing facilities.
